~SongBird~ Is Getting Spoopy!

It’s that time of the year again! Of course SongBird has brought us something delightful for the season. Check out these Spoopy Capris!

2Spoopy4U

Halloween is my favorite holiday. It always has been and it likely always will be. I’m also one of those people who treats every day like Halloween if I can get away with it. These Spoopy Capris are a wicked awesome way to manage the Halloween look no matter what time of year it is.

The skeleton outline matches my Maitreya body very well. In this post it’s accented with the Skeleton Tattoo by Demonic which is also a close match. The two may not line up perfectly depending on your body, but it’s close enough to absolutely rock it.

The capris come with a color changing HUD. There are two tabs: Colours and Faded. Both have ten options as seen in the Pics & Credits section below. Please note that each of these colors changes the entire pant. The image below is not a wearable option, simply a single image showing off every color.

The Spoopy Capris fit Maitreya, Belleza, and Slink. You can purchase them for only L$250 at the SongBird mainstore.

One Hair + Three Skins = Three Girls (ft. 7DS & TRUTH)

It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of 7 Deadly s{K}ins and TRUTH; they’re in almost all of my posts! Today I want to show off a few of their products and show how you can get different looks without changing much.

The Basics

Every pic used today has almost identical products (all of which are credited at the end of the post). There is only one actual product that is different in each picture and that’s the skin. You’ll see the style and color of the hair changes. The hair itself isn’t being swapped out, it’s all controlled by HUD. The color of the bathing suit is adjusted the same way. The mesh parts and shapes are all the same. This is a great example of how different you can look with a new skin and hairdo.

Serika

This look is based around the Serika Omega applier from 7 Deadly s{K}ins. While it’s designed for LAQ (there’s a shape for sale too) I find that she works fine on my Catwa head as seen here. She’s available in eleven skin tones as seen below:

  1. Box 1
    • Caramel (shown here)
    • Cotton
    • Dew
    • Marshmellow
    • Sand
    • Snow
  1. Box 2
    • Caramel (shown here)
    • Coconut
    • Oak
    • Pineapple
    • Taupe
    • Walnut
Serika is available at anyBODY until September 30 at 8AM SLT.

Fantasy Avatar: The Gryphon

Today’s Fantasy Avatar almost feels like cheating! Kinzart Kreetures sells a variety of furry avatars that look lovely right out of the box. The gryphon in this post was released a few years ago, before bento, and is seen exactly how she looks the first time you put her on.

Prismatic Gryphon

The Gryphon comes in various colors ranging from realistic to playful. Shown here is the Prismatic version, one of the more vibrant selections. The Kinzart Vendor will allow you to preview all available colors so you can be confident before purchasing.

What’s In The Box?

You’ll find a full list of content in the image at the bottom of this section.

The left two columns show the items exactly as they are when you initially unpack the avatar (as well as what I’m wearing for this post in bold). It includes avatar components for males and females, an informational notecard, an update checker, and more.

The right column shows the unpacked “Extras” box. This box gives you various bodyparts so you can switch out beaks, tails, jaws, crests, legs, and ears. You can even make your gryphon into a hippogriff!

My favorite part of the Extras box is how diverse the items are. You can have lion ears, a horse tail, and a parrot’s beak. You can have a toucan jaw, hawk crest, and the lion feet. There are so many ways to make this avatar your own quickly and easily.

Pixicat’s Dragon – Asia’s Current Obsession

Since this is my last content post before I head on vacation later this week I wanted to share my favorite outfit (of the moment) with you!
Remember every picture is clickable for a full view!

Dragon Gacha

Yes, it happens that the most prominent items in this outfit are from a gacha. Pixicat created the Dragon set for this summer’s Epiphany. Epiphany is closed, however the gacha is still accessible in the gacha section of the Pixicat store. Thank goodness, because I still really want the last rare! I recommend visiting the Marketplace if there is a specific piece you’d like from this set as gacha games are entirely chance. I have a bunch of items from this gacha in my store (including 3 of the nr1 rare for Maitreya at the time of this post), but feel free to look for other sellers too! If you like everything in the set go ahead and give it a shot, it’s just L$75 a try.

Inspired By: Wonder Woman

Do you ever have the desire to dress up like somebody but don’t feel the need to look identical to them? That’s what the Inspired By series is all about! Feel free to use these short posts for a little inspiration of your own, whether it’s mix & matching some of the products used here or doing something completely new!

Wonder Woman

While she’s gained a burst of popularity with the recent blockbuster film, Wonder Woman (aka Diana, Princess of Themyscira, Daughter of Hippolyta) has been around in comics since 1941. The look used in today’s post is based on her classic (pre 1960s) appearance.

Fantasy Avatar: The Broken Doll

You’ve seen many fantasy avatars by now, from vampires and demons to elves and nekos. Today I bring you something a little different: a creepy broken doll.

Get The Broken Doll Look

Most of this look can be achieved with products you may already have. The main part that makes the doll is the tattoo layer discussed in the ~SongBird~ section below. Everything else is just added bonus! Any skin will work, though I love the super pale skin since it gives her that extra creepy, fragile vibe. If you’re using a mesh body parts you can utilize the shiny options to really make the glass doll effect pop.

Aii The Ugly & Beautiful

The porcelain skin Astral Allure is a wonderful base for a doll. The skin itself is a pure, simple look that comes with various customization options. Please note that Astral Allure is simply the skin used, the cracks and doll joints are actually a separate product.

The HUD below shows all but the nipple color options that Astral Allure comes with. It’s really versatile and great for fantasy styles.

By setting the shiny option on the body and head to max I was able to give the doll a great polished glass look. While the effect is slightly visible in the photos it’s really noticeable when moving through a well lit area.

Getting Acquainted With An Anime Avatar

Various interests exist in Second Life, such as the Anime community. There are many different themed sims to hang out, shop, and meet others with similar interests. Whether you’re a part of the fandom or just like the look you’ll find you have some great avatar options. Today we’re focusing on products from UTILIZATOR, the same company that makes the furry Kemono avatar shown earlier this week.

The M3 Venus

While the body and clothing help make the avatar, it can be easily argued that the most recognizable part of an anime character is the signature face. The large, expressive eyes are the first thing many people notice. For this post I used UTILIZATOR‘s M3 Venus Anime Head. Just like the other UTILIZATOR products it’s highly customizable using just the HUDs. More experienced creators can mod the head, add their own textures, etc. As an added bonus it fit the Kemono body I already had with minimal tweaking. Score!

The Cute Little Kemono

In Second Life you can do or be pretty much anything, including a furry. What’s a furry, you ask? Take an animal and mix it up with a human. Think Bugs Bunny, Simba, or Rocket Raccoon. All of these fit the furry theme.

The furry community in Second Life is very active. Many sims exist exclusively for furries, though some allow human avatars in as well. While a lot of furries heavily modify and customize their avatars to have a one of a kind look, this post will show you a very basic and simple furry avatar.

UTILIZATOR’s Kemono

UTILIZATOR is the go to brand for many who want a petite avatar. Their avatar “Kemono” is an all in one furry avatar that can be purchased for L$900. Unfortunately there is no demo available, so do a lot of research before purchasing to ensure it’s what you’d like! If you have any questions about it please don’t hesitate to leave a comment and I’ll answer the best I can for you. At the time of this posting there are nearly 200 Kemono reviews on the Marketplace listing with an average rating of 4 out of 5 stars.

Just Another Day On The Airship (ft. Gidget’s Style)

Gidget’s Style has designed a beautiful dress for Fashion Dazzle this month. I love the way the gold and black give it a steampunk feel. While it works great for that type of style it can also be used as a period piece, or even as a modern fashion piece. The silver accents in the skirt have a personality of their own too. I love when I can choose to accessorize with gold and silver instead of one or the other.

The dress comes in 5 standard sizes for both mesh and fitmesh. To use it with my Maitreya body I did have to adjust my shape slightly to account for the way Maitreya’a alpha sections are. Make sure to demo, as I always recommend, to ensure the dress will be a good fit for you.

You can purchase Alice for only L$149 until Fashion Dazzle ends May 25. In addition to Alice you’ll also find the Dolly mesh dress by Gidget’s Style on sale for the same price.

Fantasy Avatar: The Glaistig

Recent dark and fantasy events such as We Love RP, Memento.Mori, and The Dark Style Fair 4 have been grabbing the attention of alternative avatars all through Second Life. In celebration I designed an avatar loosely based on a mythical being from Scottish folklore. The Glaistig is represented in many different ways, but almost all of them share the theme of a woman/goat hybrid. With that in mind I created the creature for this post.

7 Deadly s{K}ins

The skin used for the Glaistig is Nove by 7 Deadly s{K}ins. Nove is found at The Dark Style Fair 4 (aka TDSF4), an event celebrating all things dark. She comes in two packs, both of which include omega appliers for the face and the body in five skin tones. The first package includes the fair tones Snow (shown here), Cotton Candy, Apricot, Sand, and Caramel. The second  includes the darker tones Walnut, Chestnut, Taupe, Cashew, and Pineapple. Each pack is on sale for L$699 at the fair.

To find 7 Deadly s{K}ins at TDSF4 simply port in, head West until you reach the pathway, then follow the pathway South. You’ll find 7DS in the last booth on the right.
