7 Deadly s{K}ins October: Hunt, Mystery Box, and More!

October is here! 7 Deadly s{K}ins has a new group gift out, new discounts, and new events coming up! And just as a reminder, we’re going into our first full month with the three new skin tones introduced Sep 10.

Group Gift

October’s group gift isn’t a free skin this time, it’s free money. As a thank you for being a VIP group member you’ll be able to get L$400 in store credit. This way you can put it toward a skin of your choice.

To get your store credit simply wear your VIP tag and head to the store credit terminal at the female side of the store. This can be found on the wall to the right after you walk in from the front doors. You’ll see two terminals to the left of the info board. Just click on the right to get your credit.

We also have a group hunt this month! Sneak a peek at the skins available in the slideshow below.

Trick or Treat Store Hunt

30 pumpkins (some are tricks and some are treats) are hidden within the designated borders at the 7DS store. Treat pumpkins have male and female skins inside. Every pumpkin has a word. Collect all the words to make a Halloween poem. The first three people to complete the poem get store credit. The first gets L$1000, the second gets L$500, and the third gets L$250.

The Trick or Treat Store Hunt runs for group members only from October 1 – November 1. Make sure to pick up and review the hunt rules at the store before starting the hunt or chatting in the VIP group about it.

One Hair + Three Skins = Three Girls (ft. 7DS & TRUTH)

It’s no secret I’m a huge fan of 7 Deadly s{K}ins and TRUTH; they’re in almost all of my posts! Today I want to show off a few of their products and show how you can get different looks without changing much.

The Basics

Every pic used today has almost identical products (all of which are credited at the end of the post). There is only one actual product that is different in each picture and that’s the skin. You’ll see the style and color of the hair changes. The hair itself isn’t being swapped out, it’s all controlled by HUD. The color of the bathing suit is adjusted the same way. The mesh parts and shapes are all the same. This is a great example of how different you can look with a new skin and hairdo.

This look is based around the Serika Omega applier from 7 Deadly s{K}ins. While it’s designed for LAQ (there’s a shape for sale too) I find that she works fine on my Catwa head as seen here. She’s available in eleven skin tones as seen below:

  1. Box 1
    • Caramel (shown here)
    • Cotton
    • Dew
    • Marshmellow
    • Sand
    • Snow
  1. Box 2
    • Caramel (shown here)
    • Coconut
    • Oak
    • Pineapple
    • Taupe
    • Walnut
Serika is available at anyBODY until September 30 at 8AM SLT.

In addition here are some other recent changes to the 7 Deadly s{K}ins store you may be interested in:

  1. A female second life avatar with cloud skin gives a peace sign with her bento hands and sticks out her tongue with her bento head. There are 4 floors.
    • Skins are now sorted by brand.
    • There is a discount room.
  2. The Midnight Mania boards are now open to everyone.
    • The Mini Mania boards are group only.
  3. There is now a TP board at the landing point.
    • There are TP devices by the stairs to take you back to the TP board outside too!
  4. All the discount skins, LAQ, Lelutka, [AK], and GA.EG skins use the [E2V-3]
    store system.

    • This means you now have access to redelivery, buy as gift, and using store credit with purchases.
  5. The store is now credit compatible! There is a credit terminal at the store info area.
    • Some months the group gifts will be store credit.
    • Group members receive L$50 just by clicking the credit terminal this weekend!
  6. The store has been optimized to help reduce lag.
  7. For more info on what’s going on this month check out our September 7DS post.

Mesh Crash Course: Troubleshooting Issues

Need more mesh help or info? Check out our full Mesh Crash Course.

Sometimes things just don’t go as expected when using mesh heads and bodies in Second Life. Here are some of the most common issues:

  1. Skin, makeup or tattoos don’t apply
  2. Skin, makeup or tattoos appear distorted
  3. Eyelashes are clumpy
  4. Skin, makeup, or tattoos are shiny
  5. Makeup or tattoos are faded
  6. Old body parts show through the new mesh body parts
  7. And many, many more…

While all of these things can be very frustrating, thankfully they are usually an easy fix!

Some of the most common problems come from trying to use appliers. If you’re not familiar with them make sure to check out our in depth post on how appliers work.

If you’re finding that skin, makeup, or tattoos aren’t showing up at all it can be a few different things. First you’ll want to make sure you’re using the correct appliers. A Catwa applier, for example, won’t apply to a Lelutka head. If you’re using Omega appliers (the “universal” applier) make sure you also have your Omega System Relay Kits on. You may have to click the relays to activate them. For more information on ensuring you have the right applier and how to use appliers please check out Appliers: How Do They Work?

Olivia @ Ultra (Ft. 7 Deadly s{K}ins)

On July 15 Ultra will again be opening its doors to eager shoppers. 7 Deadly s{K}ins will be there with the beautiful skin Olivia.

Olivia comes in six colors: Apricot, Cotton Candy (shown here), Oak, Pineapple, Taupe, and Walnut. As with many of the new 7DS skins her Omega applier is a one click full body application via HUD. This makes it quick and easy to change your look in seconds. For a more in depth look at the body check out our post on the new 7DS body skins.

I could tell you how pretty Olivia is all day, but it really boils down to the visuals and your personal preferences. Check below for more pics. Olivia will be available for purchase on Saturday at Ultra.

Sizzler Summer Hunt (15 Free Products from 7DS!)

Generally I don’t post on Tuesdays, but I had to make an exception to let you guys know about the Summer Hunt going on at 7 Deadly s{K}ins! I’ll make it quick 🙂

  • Who can participate?
    • Anyone! You don’t even need to be a member of the 7DS group (though if you like their products it’s well worth joining!)
  • What products are available?
    • Skins and makeup! There are appliers, system skins, and skins for both genders. See if you can find all 15!
  • Where do I find the products?
  • When does the hunt end??
    • The main display says the hunt runs through 18th, however the note card given to group members says the 17th. Head out early to be safe!
  • Why is there a hunt?
    • To celebrate Izara (The woman behind 7DS) and her IRL birthday! Izara is very generous with giving products out on a regular basis, especially to her group members. Take a moment and appreciate her hard work and kindness!
