31 Harvest Days (Free 7DS Skins!)

I know I already told you about 31 Harvest Days, but I really want to make sure you don’t miss out! Members of the 7 Deadly s{K}ins group get free skins every day in August. The price to join the group at the time of this posting was L$10! Pay attention to the join fee as it may fluctuate and be different when you join.

Today offers Yris in Apricot for the gals (shown here) as well as Cain in Skin Tone 2 for the guys. Both skins are free through the Harvest Days event.

How It Works

Head over the the 7 Deadly s{K}ins mainstore and find the Harvest Days wall display. Just go into the women’s department and take a left, it’s behind the couch. You’ll see a wall of apples, like this:

Mesh Crash Course: Troubleshooting Issues

Need more mesh help or info? Check out our full Mesh Crash Course.

Sometimes things just don’t go as expected when using mesh heads and bodies in Second Life. Here are some of the most common issues:

  1. Skin, makeup or tattoos don’t apply
  2. Skin, makeup or tattoos appear distorted
  3. Eyelashes are clumpy
  4. Skin, makeup, or tattoos are shiny
  5. Makeup or tattoos are faded
  6. Old body parts show through the new mesh body parts
  7. And many, many more…

While all of these things can be very frustrating, thankfully they are usually an easy fix!

Appliers

Some of the most common problems come from trying to use appliers. If you’re not familiar with them make sure to check out our in depth post on how appliers work.

If you’re finding that skin, makeup, or tattoos aren’t showing up at all it can be a few different things. First you’ll want to make sure you’re using the correct appliers. A Catwa applier, for example, won’t apply to a Lelutka head. If you’re using Omega appliers (the “universal” applier) make sure you also have your Omega System Relay Kits on. You may have to click the relays to activate them. For more information on ensuring you have the right applier and how to use appliers please check out Appliers: How Do They Work?

Olivia @ Ultra (Ft. 7 Deadly s{K}ins)

On July 15 Ultra will again be opening its doors to eager shoppers. 7 Deadly s{K}ins will be there with the beautiful skin Olivia.

Olivia comes in six colors: Apricot, Cotton Candy (shown here), Oak, Pineapple, Taupe, and Walnut. As with many of the new 7DS skins her Omega applier is a one click full body application via HUD. This makes it quick and easy to change your look in seconds. For a more in depth look at the body check out our post on the new 7DS body skins.

I could tell you how pretty Olivia is all day, but it really boils down to the visuals and your personal preferences. Check below for more pics. Olivia will be available for purchase on Saturday at Ultra.

Sizzler Summer Hunt (15 Free Products from 7DS!)

Generally I don’t post on Tuesdays, but I had to make an exception to let you guys know about the Summer Hunt going on at 7 Deadly s{K}ins! I’ll make it quick 🙂

  • Who can participate?
    • Anyone! You don’t even need to be a member of the 7DS group (though if you like their products it’s well worth joining!)
  • What products are available?
    • Skins and makeup! There are appliers, system skins, and skins for both genders. See if you can find all 15!
  • Where do I find the products?
  • When does the hunt end??
    • The main display says the hunt runs through 18th, however the note card given to group members says the 17th. Head out early to be safe!
  • Why is there a hunt?
    • To celebrate Izara (The woman behind 7DS) and her IRL birthday! Izara is very generous with giving products out on a regular basis, especially to her group members. Take a moment and appreciate her hard work and kindness!

Inspired By: Wonder Woman

Do you ever have the desire to dress up like somebody but don’t feel the need to look identical to them? That’s what the Inspired By series is all about! Feel free to use these short posts for a little inspiration of your own, whether it’s mix & matching some of the products used here or doing something completely new!

Wonder Woman

While she’s gained a burst of popularity with the recent blockbuster film, Wonder Woman (aka Diana, Princess of Themyscira, Daughter of Hippolyta) has been around in comics since 1941. The look used in today’s post is based on her classic (pre 1960s) appearance.

Under The Lights (ft Moreya by 7DS)

Moreya

I’m an absolute sucker for bold, thick, dark eyeliner. I’ve always loved the edgier looks and the Moreya skin is really doing it for me. With the right mix of shape, hair, and attire she can look like a gothic goddess, a scene queen, a punk princess, or a traditional casual lady. Moreya is created for LeLutka’s Simone and comes in a pack of six tones: Cotton Candy, Sand, Marshmellow, Caramel, Pineapple, and Cashew. The pack can be purchased at Applique for L$699.
