Bento Heads vs Standard Mesh – What’s Right For You?

Posted By Asia Ristow

While the standard system heads can look nice, many people opt for mesh heads instead. With mesh you have many options, not only based on creator and style, but also in what type of head to get. Both standard and bento mesh heads have their uses. Read on to learn which is more suited to your own personal needs.

Catwa: Vampire Annie (Standard Mesh)

Standard Mesh Heads

Standard mesh heads are great for people who don’t often have the desire to change their base look. What you see is what you get in terms of shape. You can alter the appearance with different skins, but the base itself will not change. Think of using skins like painting a sculpture. The final product will look different depending on the colors and shapes you use but the sculpture itself remains unchanged under the paint. For more information about how much of an impact shapes and skins have on your look check out our informational post.

Standard doesn’t necessarily mean static. While some standard mesh heads don’t move at all, many have movement options. The movement ranges from basic blinking to more in depth expression HUDs allowing for smiling, sticking tongues out, and more.

Bento Heads

Catwa: Lona (Bento Mesh)

Bento mesh heads are a godsend for people who want to switch up their appearance on a regular basis. With bento mesh you can adjust your facial shape with the appearance sliders. This allows for an entirely different base shape as often as you’d like. Combined with the use of skins you can get many different looks with just one purchase. For more information about how much of an impact shapes and skins have on your look check out our informational post.

As with standard heads, bento heads do not have to remain static. Many have in depth animations so you can express your mood through your face. Different brands have different animations so make sure to look into them before purchasing.

Of Dresses And Flowers

Posted By Asia Ristow

Spring brings us so many fun things, aside from allergies of course. This post shows off some of the most noticeable: dresses, flowers, and a dress with flowers! The looks used today can be purchased at Fashion Dazzle‘s Spring event through April 26. Check out our event post for more information on this month’s Fashion Dazzle.

EccentriciXi

This gorgeous floral dress by EccentriciXi is exclusive to Fashion Dazzle. I love all the pinks, light purples, and reds in the flowers. Paired with the green sash it really pushes the idea that Spring is here and I’m ready for it. It can be purchased at Fashion Dazzle for $L99.

Pose Fair 2017

Posted By Asia Ristow

This post was originally planned for Sunday but I got too excited to wait, so here you go!

The Pose Fair is here! This is the time where bloggers and photographers do a little happy dance and drown themselves in beautiful poses. You don’t have to be the photo type to enjoy the Pose Fair, though. Poses are perfect for making your avatar look awesome no matter where you are. Grab some poses and show off! All poses used in this post are from this Pose Fair.

What To Expect

You’ll find poses for men, women, children, and couples. There are props, scenes, and standalone poses. Many poses are exclusive to the Pose Fair so make sure to check those out too.

Keep an eye out for free gifts and group gifts from some designers. A few brands will also have LMs to the demo section of the sim for showing off their photography booths.

Strawberry Singh made a wonderful post about the Fair yesterday, including an informative video. Another way to sneak a peek is by visiting the official Pose Fair 2017 Flickr Group.

April at 7DS: Free Easter Egg Hunt & More

Posted By Asia Ristow

April is here and with it tons of fun stuff from 7 Deadly s{K}ins. Read on to learn about the VIP group (and perks), the Easter Egg Hunt, Upcoming Events, and opportunities to work with 7DS.

VIP Group

Right now 7DS’ VIP group is FREE to join! If you aren’t already in the group I strongly suggest you join now as there is generally a fee. Group members get two free skins every month: one for males and one for females. You also get access to the store’s mini and midnight mania boards, lucky chairs, VIP group discounts, and access to sim events like the Easter Egg Hunt mentioned below. The group chat is also tons of fun and Izara (creator of 7DS) shows up from time to time too.

The two group gifts this month are Diana and Bo, both shown here. Diana is a system skin for the ladies that comes with omega body skin appliers. Bo is for the men and includes omega appliers for both the head and the body. The face was designed for Catwa heads, however it can be applied on any omega compatible mesh head.

The Lovely Ladybug (& More!)

Posted By Asia Ristow

One of Fashion Dazzle’s many participants this month is TRS Designs. The in world location has a little bit of everything for the ladies. Whether you’re looking for clothes, hair, or cute accessories you can find it there. The main store also hosts gacha, group gifts, and midnight mania. The Marketplace location has nearly 3,000 products for sale. The clothing comes in all styles from elegant to casual, gothic to preppy, and everything in between.

Aphrodite Dress (Ladybug)

This adorable dress is exclusive to Fashion Dazzle. This is probably the cutest dress I have in my entire inventory right now. The little antennae on the front really give it that playful look while still being elegant. You can change the look with layering as seen in the official advertisement below. Mix and matching leggings, jackets, and tight tops really change the feel of the dress. I love it so much! You can pick up the Aphrodite Dress in Ladybug at Fashion Dazzle for only L$100.
Note: Originally the post erroneously stated the dress was L$250. This has been fixed to show the correct price at $L100. Sorry for the confusion!

The Black Fair Is Back! (Ft. Maureen)

Posted By Asia Ristow

It’s time for the Black Fair! Purchasable at the fair is the exclusive Maureen skin by 7 Deadly s{K}ins. Images in this post feature Maureen as she visits the RMS Titanic.

Black Fair

Formerly known as the Black Fashion Fair, Black Fair is an event focused on the color black. While designers may have multiple products the exclusive products must have black as the dominant color. Of course items like poses and skins get a little leeway with this policy. Dozens of designers of all types can be found at this event. Black Fair runs through April 21, 2017.

Maureen

Maureen is another lovely low makeup skin from 7DS. Purchased by skin tone (16 tones sold separately) she comes with 5 different color eyebrow options for  L$750. She was designed for LAQ, however comes in Omega appliers. This post shows her off on Catwa‘s Lona. One of my favorite parts about this skin is the single HUD. One click and you’ve applied your head and body, and yes she uses the new body skins! I also love that she comes with an option for red eyebrows. Gingers, rejoice!
